Title: Installation Notes Product: GBAuth GBAuth allows an authorized user to connect to a GTA Firewall configured to require user authorization. The utility is provided in both a cross-platform and a Window-only version. To require a user to authenticate to the GTA Firewall with GBAuth, the firewall administrator selects the Authentication Required checkbox on a filter, tunnel or object. Before initiating a connection, the user must authenticate with GBAuth by entering the firewall's IP address, a user identity and a password. * Not available for GB-Light. JAVA APPLICATION FOR CROSS-PLATFORM AND WINDOWS The GBAuth.jar Java utility provides user authentication on any standard platform, including Windows. In addition to the GNAT Box system requirements, the GBAuth Java version needs a system that conforms to the latest Java requirements. Download Sun's latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE) at http://www.java.com. USING JAVA WITH WINDOWS The GBTrayIcon.dll is required to use a Windows system tray icon with Java GBAuth. Place the .dll in the same directory/folder as the GBAuth.jar file (usually the Program/GTA folder), or in the appropriate path/location for your Windows version. (Path information is located in System Properties/Environment Variables/Path in Windows 2000.) WINDOWS-ONLY APPLICATION The GBAuth.exe Windows-only utility allows firewall administrators to utilize GBAuth on a Windows platform without the Java runtime environment. ---------------------------------------- Global Technology Associates, Inc. 3505 Lake Lynda Drive, Suite 109 Orlando, Florida 32817 www.gta.com 407.380.0220
