GB Commander 2.0 offers network administrators a centralized management and
reporting system for multiple GTA unified threat management firewalls.
This central management system allows IT managers to easily determine
firewall status, active connections, bandwidth, CPU and memory usage, and
alarms from a single screen. Administrators can easily perform firewall
policy management as well as acknowledge and clear alarms for single
firewalls or groups of firewalls, thereby eliminating the need to log onto
each firewall individually.
Remote firewall administration is simplified with GB-OS updates and
firewall policy management when using the GB Commander 2.0 interface.
GB Commander 2.0's centralized management and reporting system provides
automated GB-OS updates to activate new firewall features and to keep all
distributed firewalls running the same version of GB-OS. Security
policies can be revised and distributed using GB Commander 2.0's firewall
policy management system.
GB Commander 2.0, which includes GTA Reporting Suite 2.0, can generate
over 100 reports from firewall log data in real time to provide
comprehensive, easy-to-understand network trend analysis.
Remote Firewall Administration
Firewall policy management for a network of distributed firewalls no
longer has to be a complex process. GB Commander 2.0 provides centralized
management and reporting whether the firewalls are located in the same
office or located in offices around the world. Powerful firewall policy
management features allows for policy revisions to be applied to either
a single firewall or globally to a group of distributed firewalls,
which makes it easy to maintain uniform corporate security standards.
Generic security policies can be applied to entire groups of firewalls
and then modified to meet the local network requirements. Administrators of
GTA Firewall UTM systems running GB-OS will be familiar with configuration
settings as they perform firewall policy management for monitored GTA
Firewall UTM systems.
Interactive Monitoring Features
GB Commander 2.0's central management system provides robust firewall
monitoring features. A display of real-time network events based upon
firewall log reports provides administrators with an at-a-glance
overview of a system's status. GB Commander 2.0's centralized management
and reporting provides firewall monitoring features that include GB-OS
version, firewall status, active connections, alarm count, CPU usage,
memory usage, and bandwidth. As data is collected, system usage and
bandwidth charts expand to display historical references for accurate
network trend analysis.
Remote GB-OS Updates
Keeping system software on distributed firewalls up-to-date is simplified
using GB Commander 2.0's central management system. GB Commander 2.0
actively monitors for published updates of GB-OS system software and
alerts the administrator when new versions are available. GB Commander 2.0's
remote firewall administration controls contain intuitive icons that indicate
when GB-OS updates are available for each firewall. GB Commander 2.0's
centralized management and reporting features allow complete remote firewall
administration. Updates can be downloaded and applied to individual
firewalls, or to a group of monitored firewalls. Required activation
codes are automatically downloaded and applied to the firewall
configuration. When adding new features to a GTA Firewall UTM system,
the GB-OS update function can be used to automatically retrieve the new
feature activation code and apply it to the existing configuration.
Alarm Observation & Notification
GB Commander 2.0 provides a centralized management and reporting platform
that actively monitors firewall status and alarms in real-time to
display an instant overview of network events. The central management
system displays alerts and can send notifications as they happen, allowing
administrators to take preventative action and resolve issues. Alarm
notification rules allow the administrator to control the frequency and
method of alarm notifications. Alarms are displayed in a table format
and can be selectively acknowledged and cleared using the GB Commander 2.0
interface. Administrators can view alarms on individual firewalls or
firewall groups using the central management system to review for potential
security incidents.
Intuitive Firewall Organization
GB Commander 2.0's central management system transforms the often-cumbersome
task of remote firewall administration into a simple process with its
user-friendly firewall organization tree. Organizations can group firewalls
according to departments for effortless firewall policy management.
Managed service providers can group distributed firewalls to match their
services. Firewalls can be placed into groups and sub-groups to create a
highly specific, yet easy to follow organizational layout that gives
administrators structured access for centralized management and reporting.
Hierarchal Administration
GB Commander 2.0 accepts multiple administrators with different privilege
levels to allow organizations to assign remote firewall administration
tasks to personnel located on the network. This distributed approach
allows for an optimum use of staff within the organization without
introducing unnecessary threats to network security. Managed service
providers can create specific administrative accounts to perform firewall
policy management only for firewalls specific to a particular company
authority. This provides network administrators with the ability to benefit
from GB Commander 2.0's ease of use, without compromising access to
unauthorized firewalls.
GTA Firewall Control Center
The GTA Firewall Control Center is a service that acts as the
central hub for all of GTA's firewall monitoring and reporting products.
It offers a single point of access to all GTA firewalls on your
distributed network. With GB Commander 2.0, the Firewall Control Center
consists of the GB Commander 2.0 Client, the GB Commander 2.0 Database
Backend and the Firewall Control Center Server. GB Commander 2.0
software is installed on the Firewall Control Center Server. GTA Firewall
UTM systems being monitored by GB Commander 2.0 send log data to the
GB Commander Database Backend. Launched from the Firewall Control Center
Server, the GB Commander 2.0 Client is a platform-independent
Java-based client used to access data stored on the GB Commander
2.0 Database Backend. Using the GB Commander 2.0 Client users can
administer firewalls and run reports on stored log data.
Licensing Options
As your network grows, GB Commander 2.0's centralized management and
reporting architecture is designed to grow with it. GB Commander 2.0
is available in a variety of configurations that meet your network's needs.
Flexible licensing options allow for purchase of additional licenses as you
increase the number of distributed firewalls in your network.
Free 30-day Evaluation
A free 30-day evaluation is available to GTA firewall owners.
GB Commander 2.0 is available on the GB-OS CD version 5.0.2 or later,
or may be downloaded from the GTA Online Support Center.
