[FAQ Main]
|
| How many network interfaces are available on the GB-1000? |
The GB-1000 comes standard with 4
built-in 10/100 ethernet NICs. Each NIC
is fully configurable so you can define
the logical role (Protected, PSN/DMZ or
External) of every interface. The GB-1000 has network
expansion options that can increase the total number of
network interfaces to eight.
Be aware of firewalls that advertise a large number of
network "ports". Quite often these systems only have two
real network interfaces with the remaining ports configured
as a hub or switch. |
